Recently the results of HSC, SSC and CET (common entrance test) were declared. Parents and students wait in great anticipation for this day. This day is important as the future of their children depends so much on the results they get. For some the results were reason for great joy as it went as per their expectations. But for some disappointing and depressing as it was not in line with their expectation. Parents compare the results of their children with others and feel disappointed and dejected.
The blame from parents and societal pressure create huge stress on their young minds. One bad performance makes the students feel as if they are failure for whole life. Many go into suicidal mode. If such students and parents are not counseled properly it can have serious consequences. Some student can even go to extend of committing suicide. Some can loose their self confidence. There is nothing more worst in life than loosing self confidence. What all parents and teacher need to realize is that performance in single examination is not guarantee of success or failure in life. There are many successful people like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs who were college drop outs ,but still went on to become most successful people in their chosen fields.
Failure is part of life and the people who can handle failure can only be successful in life. Thomas Edison failed more than 1000 times before succeeding in inventing an electric bulb. When he was asked about his repeated failure to invent electric bulb he said that he learned more than 1000 ways in which an electric bulb can’t be invented. That’s the never say die attitude of successful person. Anyone can handle success in life but there are very few people who can handle failure. Winston Churchill the great wartime leader of England once said “Success is nothing but moving from one failure to another without loosing enthusiasm “.The most successful people are the ones who have failed the most. The people who don’t try due to fear of failure are the ones who never succeed in life. So role of elders and parents is to motivate students not to loose heart and keep on trying hard. Life is long enough to make up for initial losses as “Success is never ending and failure is never final”
