Possibility Thinking

17 years back I visited Kerala for a summer vacation. My uncle gave me a book "Success is never ending and failure is never final".It is a book written by Pastor Robert Schuller on the subject of possibility thinking. After reading the book my thought process completely changed.Few important lines I remember from the book are "IMPOSSIBLE = I am Possible".The jist of the book was there is nothing impossible in the world if we think it is possible.

Last week when I visited Bangalore, from balcony of our house I saw two chicks of common tailor bird lying on the ground.I immediately rushed down to check up on them. What I saw was the chicks were covered with ants and they had fallen from their nest. My immediate reaction was how can I help them? I started looking for their nest but it was not there. Next thought came to my mind was can I inform some bird rescue team?.May be they could help. I posted about this on few related Facebook pages. 

Then I thought could I keep the birds at home. But I knew it would not be possible as we don't know what is the diet of these birds. I was about to loose hope but I didn't want the birds to die.Then I thought for time being to protect them from ants we can keep them in a plastic box. After that we thought why not put some leaves and grass in the box like what birds would have in their nest. Once we had done that I thought why not place this makeshift nest on a tree near by.Then we covered the nest with plastic for protection against rain. Two days have passed to our amazement the birds have survived and are being feed by the parent birds. 

What this incidence again reinforced to me was the power of possibility thinking. When we started we didn't know what to do. But we thought may be we can help.By thinking it was possible we got ideas to make it happen.Many impossible things become possible when we first take a positive decision to think it is possible. Possibility thinking can make us acheive much more with our lives. I will end this blog with few quotes on possibility thinking which I find inspiring
