Kiss

From my childhood I have looked upto Bible as a source of inspiration and moral compass to guide my life.Bible has many stories with morals which are revalent even today.I thought of writing blogs on some of the stories, giving my own personal interpretation and what I learned from them.

Today I will be writing about Judas Iscariot.Judas was one of the disciples of Jesus. He is remembered mostly as the one who betrayed Jesus. He stuck a deal with the priests that he would help them identify Jesus from the crowd. In return he would be paid thirty silver coins.

Judas went upto Jesus and kissed him on the cheek so that the soldiers could identify him.Jesus was arrested, later on unfairly tried and cruxified. After cruxifixation Judas realised his mistake and become very unhappy with himself .He had betrayed his own master who was innocent.

Because of the guilty conscience he went back to the priests and offered to return back money he had taken. But they refused to take it back and made fun of him.William Shakespeare quote would sum up the guilty conscience of Judas "All the perfumes of Arabia cannot wash away the stains of blood from my little hand".Judas was so unhappy with himself he commited sucide.Judas had got all the money, but finally it was invain he had lost his soul.

This story taught me

1.The softest pillow to sleep on is pure conscience.

2.Never compromise on your value or virtue for short term gain at expense of others.Never sell out.

3.Betrayal's are part of life. But betrayal led to cruxification, which led to ressurection of Jesus.Sometimes betrayals are Gods way of planning our rising.

4.You can cheat the whole world ,but you can never cheat your inner conscience.

5.Law of karma says for every cause there is an effect. No one can escape the fruits of ones action.

6.Be concious of what you become in pursuit of what you want.

  1. Excellent Binu! Excellent blog... Only few people realize these things. These 5 realizations are more than enough for every human kind to arise from the mortal life they are living. Kudos to you.
