Bible is one of books which had had an impact on my philosophy in life. In many places it talks about the law of sowing and reaping. As per the law we reap what we sow. Good deeds result into good results and bad deeds result into bad results. Recently I have been following Jim Rohn an American business philosopher. In one of his lectures he mentioned about three aspects of law of sowing and reaping. I liked it very much and thought capturing it in form of a blog.
- Law of sowing and reaping is Negative: It means if ones actions are wrong one will reap bad results. If we saw weeds or grass then we cant expect an apple tree to grow out of it.
- Law of sowing and reaping is positive: It means if our actions are good then we get good results. If we sow a mango seed we can expect a mango tree to grow out of it.
- Law of Sowing and reaping is exponential: This is the best part about the law what ever we sow the returns will not be one:one or linear but it will be exponential. If we sow a single seed of mango then just like the exponential curve the tree will initially take many years to grow and bear fruits. But when it starts to bear the fruit then it will be in lacs or millions over life span of the tree.So Right action and patience is the key.
Also good part about the Universe is that we need not know how a mango tree grows. We need to only sow and nourish the plant. The rest will be taken care by nature itself. This is analogous to our lives too. I will finish with a Quote from book Ecclesiastes which is part of old testament of the Bible.
There is an appointed time for everything. and there is a time for every purpose under heaven
A time to be born and a time to die,
A time to sow and a time to reap
A time to kill and a time to heal
A time to tear down and a time to build up
A time to weep and a time to laugh
A time to mourn and a time to dance
A time to throw stones and a time to gather stones together
A time to embrace and a time to shun embracing
A time to search and a time to give up as lost
A time to keep and a time to throw away
A time to tear apart and a time to sew together
A time to "be silent and a time to speak"
A time to love and a time to hate
A time for war and a time for peace.
Too good bro...
