Night sky

                                                                 Milky way

My childhood days were spend at HAL township ojhar. So it was a place isolated from rest of the world. We were like frogs living happly in pond thinking it was the universe. But one advantage of living there was we got a clear view of the sky at night. Many times I would sit in front of my house and look at the stars and wonder at the puropse of universe, creation, our lives and how insignificant we are in front of the vastness of universe.

When I was in school I was taught about our galaxy milky way.I would at night look at the white ocean of stars in our galaxy milky way .The beauty is we are part of milky way still we can observe it from earth.I always thought of becoming an astronaut and explore mysteries of universe like solar system, other stars, black holes, galaxies, the expansion of universe, big bang and a question which always haunted me was where is the end of the Universe?.But now a days living in cities have made it impossible to have a clear look at night skies. It been many years since leaving township I havnt had a clear look at the sky.

Another thing I wondered was can we look in to the past. When I was 17 years old read the book Brief history of time by Stephen Hawkings.Reading this book made me more interested in Theory of relativity and speed of light.I understood we are always looking at things in past depending on how far we are looking at.If we are looking at the sun then we are looking at sun 7 min in the past.As the light coming from sun takes more than 7 min to reach earth and our eyes.
So it tells me everything in the universe is recorded and we can see the past. The interesting thing is past can be  retreived back anytime based on the location from where we are looking at the past. For example if  we travel away from earth to a place were light from earth will take 100 years to reach then we will be looking at earth 100 years back.I would like to have a look at M K Gandhi and his start of freedon struggle in India.Right now it doesnt seem to be possible as we cant travel faster than light and to  such far of distance from earth. But who knows may be in future with a time machine we can travel faster than light and to far off locations.May be god has a time machine and thats the way he judges us looking at our lives in past from far of places with good pair of lenses?

But finally I can conclude that the fastest thing in the universe is not light but the human mind.We can travel across the universe with our mind faster than light!
